A man was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run.Arizona police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding an apparent hit-and-run accident that occurred earlier in September. The incident resulted in the death of a real estate broker.

The Scottsdale Police Department confirmed it has made progress in its investigation of the motor vehicle accident, which occurred on September 11. A representative from the Scottsdale Police Department affirmed deputies had arrested an Arizona native in connection with the fatal incident, but acknowledged additional work was still being conducted.

The Associated Press reports that Scottsdale police arrested Cristino Torres-Romero in connection with the motor vehicle accident. The 33-year-old is being held in the Scottsdale City Jail on suspicion of leaving the scene of a fatal collision, according to The AP.

Torres-Romero was taken into custody because of his alleged involvement in the early September hit-and-run. According to police reports, Daniel Pollack, an Arizona native and real estate executive, was endeavoring to cross a street in Scottsdale on that day. The 31-year-old was reportedly hit and killed by a driver who fled the scene of the accident.

Police said they believe Torres-Romero had been operating the car that struck Pollack earlier in the month. Though their investigation had gone cold following the alleged incident, a spokesperson for the Scottsdale Police Department asserted an anonymous tip led deputies to Torres-Romero.

Moreover, an officer from the Scottsdale Police Department said a pickup truck belonging to Torres-Romero showed evidence consistent with the accident. Police officers impounded the vehicle as they continued to investigate the matter. Deputies arrested Torres-Romero on Friday, September 23, and at this time, they would not divulge whether he is working with an attorney.
