Massachusetts Big Rig Crash Kills 66-Year-Old Motorcyclist

A motorcyclist was killed after hitting a tractor trailer on Route 13 in Massachusetts.
Police in Massachusetts said it appeared as if a 66-year-old motorcyclist was to blame for a deadly tractor trailer collision in Worcester County on June 21.

The Worcester Telegram and Gazette reports that the accident occurred around 1 p.m. when a motorcycle being driven by Steven Saseen pulled out into traffic on Route 13 North from his nearby home on Burrage Avenue in Leominster.

According to the news agency, Saseen collided with a tractor trailer being driven by 52-year-old Donald Wilton of Worcester. Officials said that the motorcycle was then hit by a car that was also traveling north on the roadway.

Saseen was taken to HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster where he was reportedly pronounced dead on arrival.

Wilton was not injured in the crash. Police told the news agency that the accident remains under investigation, but Wilton and the driver of the car will likely not face charges in connection with the deadly wreck.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that 54 motorcyclists died as a result of motor vehicle accidents in Massachusetts in 2009.
