Howard Stern Show Co-Host Involved in Car Accident

Howard Stern Show Co-Host Involved in Car AccidentRobin Quivers, perhaps best known as the co-host of notorious radio personality Howard Stern, was involved in a car accident that took place in Barnegat Township, New Jersey. No one was injured in the incident, which occurred on Sunday, August 14, although the situation was complicated by the offending driver allegedly having left the scene of the accident, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

The news source reports that the crash allegedly happened at the corner of Route 9 and Union Boulevard, on 3:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon. According to police, Quivers was driving her car north on Route 9 when she was allegedly struck by a vehicle operated by Robert Crockett, identified as a 50-year-old resident of Ocean Township.

Neither Quivers nor Crockett sustained any injuries in the crash, according to the news source, but Crockett’s alleged abandonment of the scene was problematic. When he was finally found, he allegedly told Barnegat police that he had lost control of his car, which precipitated his crashing into Quivers’s vehicle.

To locate Crockett, the police relied on descriptions from eyewitnesses to track down his vehicle, which was stated as featuring a South Carolina license plate. When found, police discovered that he had been driving with a driver’s license from the state of Florida.

According to the news source, Crockett was not arrested upon his identification and discovery by police. However, the Barnegat officers issued him several tickets. Offenses named in the summons included leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, reckless driving and operation of an unregistered vehicle.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation states that in 2010, a total of 18,238 crashes occurred in Ocean County, where Barnegat Township is located.
