Deliveryman Sues Over Pit Bull Attack

Deliveryman sues over alleged pit bull attackA deliveryman has filed a lawsuit against a Beaumont, Texas resident, claiming that her pit bull attacked him while he was trying to deliver a package.

This incident allegedly occurred in January 2008, when Tony Alexander was trying to deliver a package to a local home, the Southeast Texas Record reports. Denise Hunter's "vicious" pit bull attacked and bit Alexander, the personal injury lawsuit states. He seeks damages from Hunter for his medical expenses, pain, lost wages and disfigurement. According to Alexander, the woman failed to secure the pit bull adequately, allowing him to get loose and attack people.

Another personal injury lawsuit alleging a dog attack was recently filed in Texas. Like Alexander, Dwain Landry claims he was was working as a deliveryman when he experienced an attack by Sandra and Butch Haas' dogs while he was trying to deliver a package to their home. He claims the couple knew about their dogs' violent nature, as they had bitten another person in the past. He seeks exemplary damages to be awarded to him for his physical and mental pain.
