Edward Jones, a 25-year-old man from Grumback Avenue in Syracuse, has filed the lawsuit after he allegedly was slammed against the hood of a patrol car while being arrested by the local law enforcement officers, reported the news source.

According to the Post-Standard, there is currently a video that is circulating around YouTube which shows the alleged incident, and this clip led to an internal police investigation. The officer was disciplined, but Jones filed a civil suit to receive damages for the alleged incident.

The complaint that has been filed states that Jones was allegedly injured during the event, as he allegedly suffered from severe bruising and contusions on his face and claims he was impacted by the nature of the pain for several days.

Jones stated that the alleged incident has left him with a distinct fear of the police and has caused him to be humiliated in front of his friends and neighbors. The representation for the man has alleged that there has been a lack of an effort to find out the truth about the arrest, due to the potential for the negative publicity for the department, according to the Post-Standard.

Another personal injury lawsuit was filed recently, as an Illinois man has sought damages due to alleged injuries that occurred after a car crash in Sugarloaf, reported the Madison Record.

Robert J. House filed the lawsuit in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Todd D. Nicholson, the driver of the other car in the accident. The alleged victim in the incident is seeking more than $50,000 plus costs, according to the news source.

House has alleged that the accident was caused by Nicholson, as he had allegedly failed to look before leaving his driveway and drove a vehicle that the victim contends does not have adequate brakes, reported the Record.

The alleged injuries that were suffered by House include extensive damage to his left hand and lower back, along with a general sickness and soreness that has allegedly persisted since the incident occurred, according to the news source.
